Vin Cipolla launched a number of successful entrepreneurial endeavors in his early career. The Cipolla Group, a direct marketing firm based out of New York City, was founded in 1983 and merged with Boston firm Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson in 1991. In 1993, she later left IQ&J to form Pamet River Partners, a digital marketing company. After growing through expansion into London and Paris offices, she sold the Pamet River Partners in 1999 to TeleTech Holdings, where he briefly remained as CEO of Pamet and Digital Creators.
She left TeleTech later in 1999 to form HNW, Inc., developing wealth management software. In 2003, she became the CEO of Veritude, a global employment agency that is a division of Fidelity Investments. During this tenure, he sat on the board of Veritude and also of Fidelity Charitable Services, Fidelity’s philanthropic arm.
Civic involvement
He is active in several civic organizations focused on conservation and the arts. He started a National Trust for Historic Preservation where he served as executive vice president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, where he published the Trust’s national publication Preservation. In 2005 he served in the National Park Foundation as its CEO, the private philanthropy that raises funds to support the US National Park system.
He served on the Institute of Contemporary Art for 15 years, at 9 years he served as a chairman and president, before becoming chairman emeritus. Among his accomplishments was the development and completion of a new museum building. He joined the Municipal Art Society board at the New York (MAS) in 2008, he accepted the role of being the president. Under his leadership, the MAS produced a number of public projects that include the 9/11 Tribute in Light Memorial.
He founded the MAS Summit for New York City, the city’s largest annual urban policy conference. He has conducted the MAS Survey on Livability with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation. He is an active proponent of the rebuilding of a new Penn Station in New York City and relocating Madison Square Garden, calling the rebuilt train station “the key infrastructure and development project of our time and an essential investment in the future of our city.”

Lincoln Center has hired Vin Cipolla, president of the Municipal Art Society of New York, to oversee the capital campaign to fund a $500 million renovation of its concert venue, The New York Times reports. Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic are sharing responsibility for the fundraising effort, which got a high-profile boost in March with a $100 million gift that will see Avery Fisher Hall renamed for the donor, entertainment mogul David Geffen. A veteran cultural executive, Mr. Cipolla held key fundraising roles as president and chief executive of the National Park Foundation and president and chairman of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. Construction on what will become David Geffen Hall is scheduled to begin in 2019.

He is an accomplished, eight-time corporate CEO, a three-time CEO of major nonprofits, a capital campaign and fundraising leader, technology and digital media entrepreneur having launched six companies, and he has served on over thirty boards of directors of both leading civic and business organizations.
In 2015, he was brought in to lead the capital campaign for the redevelopment of David Geffen Hall, a partnership of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and theNew York Philharmonic, as the first Executive Director. He served on the transition leadership team for Lincoln Center, and in 2017, successfully completed the first phase of fundraising. His consulting practice, Cipolla Company, now part of Five Mile River Co., was a leader in nonprofit management consulting.

In early 2009, he became President and CEO of The Municipal Art Society of New York, having been elected to its Board in 2008.
