Wolchek started his broadcasting career playing country music at a radio station in Farmington, New Mexico, and being a terrible deejay he almost lost his job within the first week in 1978. However, he had only one ambition, and due to that he clung to that job for and few months and finally landed a top 40 station. He first played the “Hot Blooded” song by Fore.
He worked for many years and enjoyed it until he turned 30 years old and decided to look for a real job and not a real job interested him.
Wolchek was working as traffic for KNX radio in Los Angeles when a friend told him he was running the intern program at a local television. Furthermore, he signed up but did not go anywhere until another intern left for San Francisco to cover the 1989 earthquake.

Later on, Dave went to KJEO-TV in Fresno, and was there during the first week, in addition, he was sent a story regarding a special park made for disabled children that were burned to ashes by an arsonist. Dave was really moved by the story and mad with the hooligans that torched a place meant for such kids. He got a reputation as an advocate for people from that story. He won his first Emmy in Fresno for Scambusting.
Dave came to Fox 2 in 1997, and since then he has continued to hunt down scam artists and has always been lucky to receive 25 Emmy awards. He worked with lawmakers and the Governor to change laws and worked with police and prosecutors to make sure justice is served. In addition, he gets to put all the crazy confrontations I have with the bad guys on Fox 2 for everyone to see.
