.She again ran for the California’s 8th Congressional District election ,in the December 2016 general election  under the same democratic party but again lost to Cook.In 2018 Ramirez  was a Democratic candidate for California’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House. Ramirez lost the primary on June 5, 2018.
