Paul Washer Bio

Paul Washer is an American Protestant evangelist with the Calvinist theology associated with the Southern Baptist Convention. He converted to Christianity while studying to become an oil and gas lawyer at the University of Texas at Austin. Paul moved to Peru and became a missionary there for 10 years.

He went to the University of Texas at Austin where he studied to be an oil and gas lawyer. He converted to Christianity while at the University of Texas and later joined Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

While in Peru in 1988, he founded the HeartCry Missionary Society to support indigenous missionaries witnessing to people of their own culture. He later returned to the United States and has resided in Radford, Virginia since 2010, where currently he continues as the mission director of HeartCry.
