Melissa began her career in journalism at WMPT – FOX 43 based in York, a city in southern Pennsylvania. She started as an intern and rose through the ranks. Here, she became prominent for her investigations on heroin. Her work also helped in the introduction of a heroin task force. Apart from this, she covered politics at the state capitol in Harrisburg. She also filled in occasionally as an anchor.
At WMPT, she was first a multimedia journalist. In this role, she Develops sources, maintains contacts, and pursuing leads.
