Katherine Ramsland is an American non-fiction author and professor of forensic psychology who has written 60 books and more than 1,000 articles, mostly in the genres of crime, forensic science, and the supernatural.
She has a master’s degree in forensic psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Duquesne University, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Rutgers. Katherine was born in Michigan.
She has written books like, The CSI Effect, Inside the Minds of Serial Killers, Inside the Minds of Healthcare Serial Killers, Inside the Minds of Mass Murderers, The Human Predator: A Historical Chronology of Serial Murder and Forensic Investigation, The Unknown Darkness: Profiling the Predators, The Criminal Mind: A Writers’ Guide to Forensic Psychology, and The Forensic Science of CSI. With former FBI profiler Gregg McCrary, she co-authored the book on his cases and many others.

BTK was an infamous signature of serial killer Dennis Rader. Dennis gave himself the name BTK which stands “Bind, Torture, Kill”. Dennis killed ten people in the Wichita, Kansas, metro area between 1974 and 1991.
He was particularly known for sending taunting letters to police and newspapers describing the details of his crimes and after a decade-long hiatus, Dennis Rader resumed sending letters in 2004, leading to his 2005 arrest and subsequent guilty plea.
