Ian Harding born as Ian Michael Harding is an American actor known for his role as Ezra Fitz in the Freeform TV series Pretty Little Liars (2010-2017); the role garnered him multiple Teen Choice Awards.

He was born to Stephen Harding and Mary Harding. His father, Stephen, is a journalist specializing in military affairs and an author while her mother was a cardiology nurse at the Walter Reed Center. He has an elder sister called Sarah Harding.

When he was a young boy, his family moved from Germany to Virginia, U.S. where he attended Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Maryland. He developed an interest in drama and joined the school’s drama club. He loved and enjoyed acting and he performed on stage all through his high school years. Later he joined Carnegie Mellon University where he pursued Acting/ Music Theater Program.

His mother has been living with Lupus for more than 20 years and for this reason he has been working with the Lupus Foundation of America to raise funds and awareness for lupus research and education.

He has been dating her since 2010 and he lives with her in his Los Angeles apartment and his two dogs from the Mochi and Bailey Labradoodles.

Ian Harding Career

His first big break came when he landed a role in the 2009 romantic comedy-drama film, Adventureland. Still, in the same year, he played the role of Ryan in the film Deadtime Stories 2. In 2010, he landed a role as Ezra Fitz, an English teacher turned successful author on Pretty Little Liars series which continued for seven seasons. From this role as Ezra, he won eight Teen Choice Awards.

He has featured in several movies and TV Shows and in May 2017, his first book, Odd Birds was released. His book is a collection of personal essays about life, acting, and birding. He decided to write it since he “felt a little bit artistically unfulfilled” and wanted to try something new so he decided to write about birding, his childhood hobby.
