Grow’s enthusiasm for incredible meteorological research dates back to primary school. She would spend hours looking at the sky at lunch, trying to find the jet stream. Grow formed the science club in fourth grade at her kindergarten, and also taught first-grade classmates lessons on the solar system. Today, at PIX11, and off camera with the American Meteorological Society, she is pursuing this love for research on camera. Erica serves on the AMS Council, a role to which her colleagues in the Society were elected in 2018. She also served as a delegate to the 2019 World Meteorological Organization’s 18th Congress in Geneva, Switzerland.
After graduating from Penn State, Erica became a meteorologist and weather producer for KMID-TV in Midland and Odessa, Texas, writing and producing the “Weather Wise” segment. She then left Midland to join the crew of WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a meteorologist and reporter.
In 2007, she became a weather anchor for WPVI-TV’s 6ABC Action News on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Philadelphia. Grow became active in education initiatives in Philadelphia area schools, and represented 6ABC at community events such as the Philadelphia Auto Show, Philadelphia Flower Show, and the 6ABC Holiday Food Drive. She left WPVI in 2010 when her contract was not renewed.

In 2011, Grow was hired to forecast, produce and anchor weather segments for WTNH-TV News 8 in New Haven, Connecticut, where she was also active in the community visiting schools with the News 8 “Mobile Weather Lab” vehicle.
In 2012, she earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. After only one year there She left WTNH in 2012.
In September 2012, she worked on-air at CBS affiliate WUSA in Washington, D.C., as a Meteorologist for the weekend evening newscasts. She left WUSA in 2015.
In late September 2015, Grow became the new weekend evening meteorologist for the flagship NBC station WNBC in New York City.
