Bunton started her career at an early age when she started doing modeling work for such things as Mothercare, Mentadent P toothpaste, and Polly Pocket. During her time in school, she auditioned for several TV parts including “Bianca” in EastEnders 1985, but none of them really panned out. She is seen briefly in both EastEnders 1985 and The Bill 1984, but only in minor parts. It is the second licensed adaptation of the GBBO format in the United States.CBS produced one season of The American Baking Competition in 2013, which was hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, with Paul Hollywood and Mexican-American chef Marcela Valladolid as judges.

It was announced on May 3, 2022, that The Roku Channel would be airing a new season of the show, with Paul Hollywood coming back as judge, along with Prue Leith from GBBO. Roku also stated the plans to air The Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Holiday Edition, featuring celebrities competing to raise money for charity.
