Brian Wood Biography
Brian Woods is an american journalist. He is an anchor and reporter for KATU-TV in Portland. He worked there from 2002 to 2008. Additionally, he was the main anchor and managing editor at WMAR-TV in Baltimore, Maryland.
He has also anchored and reported at KIRO-TV in Seattle, Washington, and KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He grew up in Bellevue, Washington. While he was there, he attended Interlake High School. Wood graduated from the University of Washington with an honors degree in Political Science and communications.

He is a National award-winning reporter and anchor. Currently, he is the Managing Editor of ABC 2 News at 5, 6 and 11:00.
He has more than 25 years of news and newsroom management experience. He’s stood his ground during earthquakes in Seattle, San Francisco and Kobe, Japan. After Princess Diana passed on, he went to London to cover her funeral.
His work during the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan was featured in The Seattle Times. Wood covered the bombing in Oklahoma City and the crash of John F. Kennedy Junior’s plane near Martha’s Vineyard. He also covered the smuggling of illegal immigrants from Hong Kong.
He shared the 1992 Peabody Award for reporting the documentary When the Salmon Runs Dry which explored the causes and effects of the declining population of wild salmon in the Columbia River system.
Wood reported, among other subjects, the Green River Killer, the deadly immigrant smuggling on container ships from Hong Kong and the sinking of the Interstate 90 floating bridge in November 1990.
